Electric field line

Electric field line

Electric field lines are a visual representation of the electric field around an electric charge.
In the case of a point charge, it can be expressed in spreading around the charge.
The denser the electric field line, the stronger the electric field.

  1. The electric field line starts at the (+) charge and ends at the (-) charge. Or, it may start or end at infinity.
  2. When drawing lines, the number of lines is proportional to the amount of electric charge.
  3. Electric field lines do not intersect or separate from each other.
  4. The electric field line starts or ends perpendicular to the conductor surface.
  5. Electric field lines do not exist in a conductor (electric field = 0).
  6. A uniform electric field has the same distance between the lines of force.

Electric field line

Between the same kind of electric charge, a line is connected, and a pulling force acts.
The lines do not connect between the different kinds of electric charges and the pushing force acts.
