Diurnal Motion
Fix the camera towards Polaris at night, shoot for a few hours, and you’ll see the stars move in a circle around Polaris.
This movement of the stars in a circle once a day is called a diurnal motion. This motion occurs because the Earth spins from west to east.
The sun and the moon also do the diurnal motion due to the Earth’s spin. The repetition of day and night is also because the Earth rotates. Besides, satellites orbiting the Earth gradually move westward each time they return, and this phenomenon is also caused by the Earth’s spin.
